Job Overview: The BRIDGE Markets Institute Food GHG Emissions Undergraduate Intern position at WWF is designed for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in contributing to the environmental sector, particularly in the area of climate change and food systems. The intern will work under the guidance of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Senior Director for Scope 3 Carbon Measurement and Mitigation, focusing on understanding and communicating the sources of greenhouse gas emissions associated with key food commodities such as rice, cashew, dairy, and pork. The role involves conducting literature reviews, analyzing data, and synthesizing findings to inform WWF's strategies for mitigating emissions in the food sector. This internship not only provides practical experience in research and data analysis but also offers professional development opportunities to enhance the intern's career prospects in conservation and sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for conducting a literature review on greenhouse gas emissions related to selected food commodities. This includes synthesizing and analyzing data from both academic and grey literature on dairy greenhouse gas emissions. The intern will also develop a clear brief summarizing the findings of their research and assist WWF staff in disseminating this brief for feedback. Additional tasks may be assigned or co-developed between the intern and their supervisor, allowing for a collaborative approach to the internship experience.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in data science, environmental science, agriculture, mathematics, or related fields.
