Job Overview: The BRIDGE Social Media Undergraduate Intern position at WWF is designed for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in social media management and content creation. The intern will work closely with the social media team to assist in drafting, scheduling, and monitoring social media posts, as well as creating engaging content, including short-form videos. This internship provides an opportunity to develop skills in social media strategy, video production, and content management, while also contributing to WWF's mission of conservation. The intern will be expected to produce an end-of-internship report that supports the social media team’s YouTube efforts, thereby enhancing their understanding of digital engagement in the environmental sector.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the drafting and scheduling of social media posts across various platforms; creating social media content, particularly short-form vertical videos; conducting research to inform social media strategies; producing and presenting a YouTube engagement and strategy report to the team; and performing other duties as required to support the social media team. The intern will also have the opportunity to learn about social media best practices and contribute to the overall digital presence of WWF.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be actively enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s program in marketing, public relations, communications, or videography. Those studying in other fields are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate should demonstrate alignment with WWF’s core values of Courage, Integrity, Respect, and Collaboration. They should possess excellent research and writing skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse teams is essential.
Educational Background: The position requires candidates to be pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as marketing, public relations, communications, or videography. Candidates who are studying in other disciplines are also welcome to apply, provided they can demonstrate relevant skills and interests in social media and conservation.
Experience: While prior professional experience is not required, candidates should have a strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation. The internship is particularly aimed at individuals who have not previously had a breadth of professional experience and are considering conservation as a career pathway. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical experience in a professional setting.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, as all communications and tasks will be conducted in English. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required for this position.

The intern is required to be present at the WWF Washington, DC Headquarters Office at least two days per week, making this a hybrid position. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., and this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
