Job Overview:
The Information Technology Security Officer position is critical within the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security (NS) at the IAEA. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of activities aimed at enhancing information and computer security within the nuclear security framework of Member States. The officer will work closely with the Section Head and coordinate with various stakeholders, including Member States, to ensure effective implementation of nuclear security measures. The position requires a blend of project management and technical expertise, focusing on the protection of sensitive information and the enhancement of cybersecurity measures in nuclear facilities. The officer will also be responsible for drafting guidance documents, conducting training, and liaising with other sections and international organizations to promote best practices in information security.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Technology Security Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: 1) Identifying, proposing, and planning activities necessary for the implementation of nuclear security activities related to information and computer security. 2) Providing technical input for the development and drafting of Nuclear Security Series guidance documents. 3) Drafting, editing, and proposing policy and technical documents related to information and computer security. 4) Collaborating with team members to develop and maintain computer security training courses and conducting these courses as part of the NSNS program. 5) Interacting and coordinating with other IAEA sections, divisions, and external organizations to complete tasks effectively. 6) Managing and maintaining the Incident and Trafficking Database and ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information. 7) Raising awareness among Member States regarding the threat of cyber-attacks and their potential impact on nuclear security.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in information science, computer science, nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or related fields. Additionally, a minimum of five years of working experience in developing and implementing information and computer security controls in a nuclear or radioactive material facility environment is required. Experience in IT project management and familiarity with the nuclear domain will be considered assets. Candidates should also have excellent oral and written command of English, with knowledge of other official IAEA languages being advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in fields such as information science, computer science, nuclear science, or nuclear engineering. This foundational education is essential for understanding the complexities of information security within the context of nuclear safety and security.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in commercial, national, or international organizations, specifically in the area of information and computer security within nuclear facilities. Candidates should have experience in IT project management and a strong understanding of the nuclear domain, which will enhance their ability to navigate the specific challenges associated with nuclear security.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with excellent oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $70,212, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance.
