Job Overview:
The BRIDGE Industrial Decarbonization Graduate Intern position at WWF is designed to support programs aimed at advancing industrial decarbonization through renewable thermal energy and clean heat technologies. The intern will be part of WWF’s Corporate Climate Engagement team, contributing to initiatives such as the Renewable Thermal Collaborative (RTC) and the Industrial Heat Pump Alliance (IHPA). The role focuses on assisting industrial facilities and global supply chains in transitioning from fossil fuel-based process heat to cleaner, more efficient solutions. The intern will engage in two main program areas: supporting the Industrial Heat Pump Alliance to promote the adoption of industrial heat pumps and assisting RTC initiatives that enhance supplier readiness for renewable thermal technologies, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in climate and energy initiatives and understand how collaborative programs can drive industrial decarbonization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering programs that aim to reduce industrial emissions through clean heat technologies. Specific duties include organizing learning bootcamps, buyer-supplier connection events, and state-level roundtables for the Industrial Heat Pump Alliance. The intern will handle stakeholder communication and coordination, prepare meeting materials, track engagement and follow-up actions, and assist with reporting and knowledge management. Additionally, the intern will support renewable thermal supply chain programs by coordinating webinars and training sessions, onboarding participants, conducting background research on clean heat technologies and market trends, organizing supplier engagement activities, and developing presentations and communication materials. Collaboration with WWF staff and external partners will be essential to ensure effective program implementation and stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be pursuing a graduate program in relevant fields such as Sustainability, Business with a sustainability or supply chain focus, Public Policy with an energy or environmental policy focus, Engineering with an energy or manufacturing focus, or Environmental Science or Studies. While these areas are preferred, students from other disciplines are encouraged to apply. Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a demonstrated interest in climate, energy, sustainability, or industrial decarbonization, which can be shown through relevant coursework, research, or extracurricular activities. While prior internship experience is not mandatory, familiarity with industrial decarbonization, renewable thermal energy, or corporate sustainability is preferred. Experience in event planning, stakeholder engagement, or supporting multi-partner initiatives will be beneficial for the intern's success in this role.

Languages:

  • The position is flexible in terms of location, allowing the intern to work from Washington DC or other states, with the exception of Hawaii, Kentucky, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Wyoming.
