Job Overview:
The BRIDGE Forest Communications Undergraduate Intern position at WWF is designed to support the Forest team’s initiatives and contribute to the organization’s forest conservation goals. This internship is part of WWF's summer program aimed at undergraduate and graduate students who may not have extensive professional experience in conservation. The intern will play a crucial role in advancing the Forest team’s programmatic communications by developing and writing stories, identifying social media engagement opportunities, and supporting program staff presentations. The intern will report directly to the Senior Communications Specialist for Forests and will be involved in various communication efforts targeting both internal and external audiences, thereby enhancing the overall success of the team’s initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for developing and writing forest-focused stories and other communications materials, including web content, blogs, team newsletters, and bios. They will collaborate with WWF’s Marketing and Communications team to publish and promote content effectively. Additionally, the intern will help identify opportunities for social media promotion to highlight programmatic achievements, breaking forest-related news, recognition days, and advocacy efforts. The intern will also support program staff presentations by creating PowerPoint decks and drafting messaging, as well as verifying forest-related facts to ensure accuracy in communications.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications, although those studying in other fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be actively enrolled students and should not have received their degree by the internship start date of June 1, 202
