Job Overview: The Manager of Support Services is responsible for providing coordinated and strategic leadership for all support functions within DRC's operations in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. This role ensures the smooth running of support services to meet program needs in accordance with the DRC Operations Handbook. The manager will oversee compliance with donor requirements and ensure the auditability of all documentation related to DRC's operations in Cox’s Bazar. The position requires a proactive approach to planning and strategy, ensuring that support services are aligned with program objectives and that resources are mobilized effectively. The manager will also play a key role in capacity building for national staff and ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures, as well as local laws.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Manager of Support Services include:
Planning and Strategy: Ensure annual planning for support services is completed, with regular targets met and linked to the coordination unit for consistency across the country.
HR Support: Oversee HR functions including recruitment, staff induction, performance reviews, and training.
Logistics and Procurement Support: Ensure procurement procedures are followed and manage tenders.
Finance: Act as the primary budget holder for support services, ensuring accountability and compliance in financial documentation.
IT: Oversee IT systems and ensure data security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and functionality.
Coordination: Facilitate internal budget monitoring meetings and coordinate with various stakeholders.
Safety: Ensure compliance with safety rules and report incidents.
People Management: Line manage support staff and ensure effective performance management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in similar roles, with a minimum of 3 years in people management. Knowledge of project cycle management, supply chain management, procurement processes, and budget monitoring is essential. Familiarity with donor policies and compliance procedures is also required. Relevant technical training and experience with ERP systems are advantageous.
Educational Background: A Master’s Degree in a relevant field of study is required for this position. This educational background should provide a strong foundation in management principles, humanitarian response, and organizational leadership.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of experience in roles related to support services within the NGO sector, with a focus on management and coordination. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing teams and projects effectively, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.
Languages: Fluency in English and Bengali is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
