Job Overview: The National Communications Consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and engagement of UNICEF's Child Protection and Migration Practice. This position involves creating and disseminating communication materials that effectively convey key messages to both internal and external stakeholders. The consultant will be responsible for producing monthly bulletins, donor updates, and social media content that highlights UNICEF's initiatives and achievements in child protection and migration. The role requires a strategic approach to communication, ensuring that all materials are aligned with UNICEF's mission and objectives. The consultant will also be tasked with managing social media accounts, developing engaging content, and maintaining the Child Protection and Migration website, thereby contributing to the overall visibility of UNICEF's work in these critical areas.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's primary duties will include:
Gathering content and producing six internal bulletins related to Child Protection and Migration, one for each month of the assignment.
Creating three external donor updates to keep stakeholders informed about UNICEF's initiatives and progress.
Developing twelve social media packs, including key messages, draft tweets, and relevant photos, in collaboration with the Digital Communications and Advocacy team.
Drafting twenty-four LinkedIn posts for the Child Protection and Migration Director to enhance visibility on professional networks.
Preparing up to twelve sets of talking points and presentations as required for various stakeholders.
Developing and posting three social media posts per day, incorporating graphic design and animation to highlight key knowledge products and program achievements.
Compiling a catalogue of global Child Protection and Migration knowledge products for the year 202
Updating the SharePoint and Child Protection & Migration website on a monthly basis to ensure current information is available.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Media, Digital Communications, or a related field. Additionally, they should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in communications or related roles. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in developing engaging communication assets across various platforms, including digital and social media. Proven experience in social media monitoring, analytics, and account management is essential, along with the ability to translate data insights into strategic communication actions.
