Job Overview:
The position of Volontaire en ligne Assistant-e en Sécurisation des Produits de Santé is integral to the implementation of the 9th Cooperation Program between Burundi and UNFPA, covering the period from 2024 to 202
  • This program aims to enhance reproductive health services, strengthen institutional capacities, and improve data production and utilization for national planning. The volunteer will work under the direct supervision of the Country Midwife Advisor and in coordination with the UNFPA Resident Representative in Burundi. The role involves analyzing and formatting logistical data, drafting technical notes and reports, and documenting supply chains to ensure the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of health products. The volunteer will also participate in various activities related to the procurement, distribution, and inventory management of reproductive health products, ensuring compliance with best practices and cold chain requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Volontaire en ligne Assistant-e en Sécurisation des Produits de Santé include: analyzing and formatting logistical data; drafting technical notes and reports; documenting supply chains; ensuring best practices in securing health products; participating in the quantification and procurement of reproductive health products; overseeing the reception and distribution of these products; ensuring compliance with cold chain requirements; conducting physical inventories at central and peripheral levels; documenting activities related to reproductive health programs and sharing best practices; proposing innovations for program activities; participating in the implementation of the program, including supporting the organization of workshops, seminars, conferences, and meetings; assisting in the development of working documents related to reproductive health program management; and providing support in other intervention areas as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for this position should possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in data analysis and report writing is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to reproductive health and rights, as well as an understanding of the challenges faced in this field. Familiarity with supply chain management and logistics in a health context is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders effectively.

Educational Background:
A background in public health, social sciences, or a related field is preferred for this position. Candidates should have a solid understanding of reproductive health issues and the ability to apply this knowledge in practical settings. Relevant coursework or training in logistics, supply chain management, or health program management will be advantageous.

Experience:
While prior experience in a similar role is not mandatory, any relevant volunteer or internship experience in public health, logistics, or program management will be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in the field of reproductive health.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Burundi. Proficiency in English is considered a valuable asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and enhance the volunteer's ability to engage with diverse audiences.
