The UN Volunteer position is integral to the OHCHR's mission in Colombia, particularly focusing on the human rights of refugees and migrants from Venezuela. Duties and Responsibilities:
The UN Volunteer will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including: collecting and reporting on the human rights situation of refugees and migrants, particularly those from Venezuela; participating in inter-agency coordination mechanisms and assisting in formulating proposals for a human rights-based approach to migration; conducting interviews with victims and local stakeholders to identify abuses; drafting reports and following up on human rights violation cases; performing legal analyses on human rights issues; providing technical assistance to partners; integrating gender and ethnic perspectives in all activities; assisting with administrative tasks as needed; and promoting volunteerism through community engagement. The volunteer is also encouraged to participate in UNV activities and contribute to publications and reports.
