Job Overview:

Interns will be involved in various tasks that contribute to the development and revision of educational materials, research and policy review, and project coordination related to education policy and curriculum development. The role is designed to provide interns with hands-on experience in a UN agency, allowing them to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting while gaining insights into the workings of international organizations. Interns will also have the chance to participate in strategic discussions and contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations, thereby enhancing their understanding of the educational landscape and policy-making processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns may be assigned a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: supporting the development and revision of learning materials by conducting content analysis to ensure alignment with UN principles and UNESCO standards; assisting in research and policy review by gathering and synthesizing relevant literature, data, and case studies; providing support in drafting and reviewing policy documents, including summarizing key issues and recommendations; contributing to strategic discussions by preparing background briefs, meeting notes, and summaries of workshops, training sessions, and seminars; assisting in the development of reports and presentations by organizing information in a clear and accessible format; supporting project coordination tasks related to education policy and curriculum development; conducting desk research on best practices in education policy, digital learning, and teacher capacity-building; and supporting the finalization of key documents in alignment with UNRWA branding guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet specific qualifications to be considered for the internship. They should be enrolled in an accredited first-level higher education program (Bachelor or equivalent), enrolled in an accredited graduate school program (Master or higher or equivalent), or have graduated with a university degree within the last year. Additionally, desirable qualifications include a specialization in areas such as Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, Mental psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Health Psychosocial Support, Education Policy and Planning, Digital Education, and Education in Emergencies. Candidates should also demonstrate a strong interest or experience in policy or project management, possess advanced IT skills focusing on data analysis and visualization, and exhibit strong organizational and communication skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes being currently enrolled in or having recently graduated from a higher education program. Specifically, candidates should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of education policy and the operational frameworks within which UNRWA functions.

Experience:
While prior work experience is not mandatory, candidates with demonstrated interest or experience in policy or project management will be viewed favorably. The internship is designed for individuals who are looking to gain practical experience and apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting, particularly in the context of international organizations and humanitarian work.

Languages:
A strong command of spoken and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, as it enhances communication and understanding within the context of UNRWA's operations and the communities it serves.
