Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer for Editing and Proofreading is part of the EU–UNDP GREAT Project, which focuses on supporting democratic governance, rule of law, accountability, and inclusive participation in The Gambia. This project works closely with national institutions, civil society, and local government authorities to enhance transparency and citizen engagement. The role of the Online Volunteers is crucial in ensuring that communication strategies developed by the National Agency for Legal Aid (NALA), Alternate Dispute Resolution Secretariat (ADRS), Judiciary, and Ministry of Interior are clear, accurate, and of high quality. Volunteers will engage in editing and proofreading tasks that contribute to achieving SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting transparency and accountability, as well as strengthening partnerships and knowledge sharing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteers will be tasked with editing and proofreading four communication strategies. Their responsibilities include ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in language, tone, and style. Volunteers will conduct thorough proofreading to correct spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors while preserving the integrity of key facts and technical content. They will ensure that the reports are accessible and coherent for the intended audience, utilizing appropriate editing and proofreading tools to maintain high-quality standards. Additionally, the role involves researching suitable terminology as needed and providing both tracked changes and clean versions of each report to ensure transparency and quality assurance.
