Job Overview:
The WASH Coordinator is responsible for coordinating WASH activities and services, managing associated resources, and contributing to the development of policies and standards. This role involves supervising field teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and participating in decision-making processes that impact project quality and implementation. The coordinator is expected to ensure that projects target participants in greatest need of protection, explore and evaluate new and better ways to assist, and promote the rights of displaced and repatriated individuals in line with advocacy strategies. The position also requires contributing to the development of the department's strategy, project proposals, Micro LogFrame, and Action Plans, as well as developing specific technical indicators and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for WASH.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The WASH Coordinator's general responsibilities include adhering to NRC's policies, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring that projects target the most vulnerable participants, and contributing to the archiving of all project documents. Specific responsibilities include coordinating and implementing WASH projects according to strategy, project proposals, and operational plans; supporting financial monitoring of WASH activities in the intervention area; managing and supervising project staff; ensuring technical quality control of WASH projects and activities; promoting and sharing ideas for improving actions and suggesting necessary modifications; participating in the design of training modules and organizing training for WASH teams, partners, and relevant participants; developing synergy with other NRC core competencies to ensure integrated approaches and holistic responses to beneficiary needs; actively participating in thematic group meetings and WASH cluster meetings for effective coordination and information sharing; contributing to beneficiary identification based on vulnerability criteria and coordinating technical assessments of WASH needs; ensuring the integration of cross-cutting themes (protection, gender, environment) in activity implementation; supporting operational planning (work plans, budget forecasts, purchase requests) in accordance with sector standards and local context; contributing to the drafting of internal and external technical and operational reports; and providing technical support to the WASH CC in coordination mechanisms and sectoral working groups.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree (BAC +5) in civil engineering, rural engineering, hydraulics, public works, or a similar field. Candidates with a lower degree must justify at least six (6) years of relevant professional experience. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, including the implementation of WASH activities, design and construction of infrastructure in emergency contexts, as well as coordination and management of teams and activities (at least at the Project Coordinator level or minimum WASH Officer). Proven experience in team management (2 years), planning, organizing, and monitoring activities is essential. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in implementing participatory projects, including needs identification and community mobilization. At least three (3) years of experience within an NGO, preferably international, with prior experience in complex and volatile contexts is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree (BAC +5) in relevant fields such as civil engineering, rural engineering, hydraulics, public works, or similar disciplines. Candidates with lower qualifications must have significant professional experience to compensate for the educational requirement.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the humanitarian sector, specifically in WASH activities, infrastructure design and construction in emergency contexts, and team management. Candidates should have at least two (2) years of experience in managing teams and a proven track record in planning, organizing, and monitoring activities.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, with excellent writing and communication skills. Knowledge of local languages is required, and proficiency in English is considered an asset.
