Job Overview:
The position of Multimedia and Graphic Design Consultant is crucial for the UNFPA Pacific Regional Office (PSRO) as it aims to enhance communication and visibility through various multimedia products. The consultant will be responsible for producing high-quality videos, photo essays, and other visual materials that align with UNFPA's communication and visibility guidelines. This role requires a creative individual who can contribute innovative ideas for print and digital media, ensuring that all outputs effectively communicate UNFPA's mission and engage stakeholders. The consultant will work closely with the Communications Specialist and will be expected to maintain high standards of quality and adherence to branding policies. The role is on an on-call basis, reflecting the growing demand for effective communication strategies within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Multimedia and Graphic Design Consultant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: implementing UNFPA's branding policy across all multimedia products; delivering high-quality edited videos and creative ideas for various formats; designing and laying out reports, publications, and other materials; improving and editing artwork, photos, charts, and graphic elements; and creating information and communication materials such as booklets, leaflets, posters, infographics, and social media graphics. The consultant will also be responsible for ensuring that all products meet UNFPA's communication standards and are approved by the Communications Specialist. Additionally, the consultant will contribute to the overall branding processes and ensure that all outputs are functional and usable for both internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, fine arts, or a closely related field. They should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in multimedia production, demonstrating a strong theoretical and practical background in multimedia techniques. Proficiency in editing and design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects is essential. The ideal candidate will have a mature style of video editing and design, with a clear understanding of the communication requirements of a UN agency. Proven experience in multimedia production from inception to final product, along with knowledge of printing processes and color management, is required. Familiarity with new technologies and digital platforms, as well as standard software packages like MS Office, is also necessary.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, fine arts, or a closely related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for effective multimedia production and graphic design, ensuring that the consultant can meet the demands of the role and contribute to UNFPA's mission.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in multimedia production. This experience should encompass a comprehensive understanding of multimedia techniques, including video editing, graphic design, and the production of various communication materials. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of delivering high-quality multimedia products that meet organizational standards and effectively communicate key messages.

Languages:
Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Pacific languages is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication with local stakeholders and contribute to the effectiveness of multimedia products in the region.

Additional Notes:
The consultant will be compensated on a monthly basis, with payment made at the end of each month based on a set daily fee and the number of days worked. The consultant is required to submit an end-of-month report detailing the work performed, along with a supervisor's certification of satisfactory delivery.
