Job Overview: The UN Volunteer will support the Deputy Chief of Staff for Programmes and Partnerships (DCG/PP) in coordinating key initiatives that advance programmatic and partnership priorities. This role involves facilitating effective communication and information sharing between the Executive Office (EO), program departments, field offices, and representative offices. The volunteer will assist in the implementation of decisions made by the DCG/PP and provide technical input on partnerships and resource mobilization. The position requires a proactive approach to support strategic planning, project management, and the preparation of various documents and materials for the DCG/PP. The volunteer will also conduct research, prepare briefing notes, and ensure optimal information flow within the EO, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Agency's operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the DCG/PP in coordinating initiatives to advance programmatic and partnership priorities.
Facilitate coordination and information sharing between the EO, program departments, field offices, and representative offices.
Follow up on the implementation of decisions referred by the DCG/PP to HQ departments and field offices.
Provide technical and substantive input on partnerships and resource mobilization.
Assist in strategic planning, project management, and engagement with the Department of Planning and Programme departments.
Review and finalize documents for the DCG/PP’s clearance and approval.
Prepare for and follow up on meetings and engagements of the DCG/PP.
Conduct research and analyze data related to programs and partnerships.
Prepare various documents including reports, presentations, and social media posts. 1
Serve as the EO focal point for specific subjects and departments. 1
Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Deputy Chief of Staff.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a professional demeanor and integrity. Adaptability and flexibility are essential, as well as the ability to analyze information and plan effectively. Teamwork is crucial, as the volunteer will be working closely with various stakeholders within the Agency.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in international relations, public administration, social sciences, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees are preferred and may enhance the candidate's profile.
Experience: Candidates should have experience in program management, partnerships, or related fields, preferably within a humanitarian or development context. Familiarity with UN operations and the challenges faced by Palestine refugees is advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the UN. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable, and proficiency in other languages such as French, German, Italian, or Spanish is considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This position is a volunteer role under the UN Volunteers program, offering a Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of USD 2655.32, subject to change.
