Job Overview:
The Radiologist position is integral to the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications, specifically within the Division of Human Health. The role involves coordinating and supporting research initiatives, providing technical and advisory services, and disseminating information related to radiological techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The Radiologist will report to the Section Head and will be responsible for enhancing Member States' capabilities in health services through the application of nuclear medicine and diagnostic imaging technologies. This position requires a high level of expertise and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve development goals in health services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Radiologist will be tasked with developing and implementing coordinated research projects focused on diagnostic imaging techniques for disease diagnosis and treatment. This includes evaluating research contracts and publishing results. The role also involves organizing scientific meetings, serving in scientific missions, and representing the Agency at relevant conferences. The Radiologist will support the technical cooperation programme by evaluating project requests, developing work plans, and assisting with expert assignments and training. Additionally, the position requires coordination with national and international organizations and preparing technical reports and scientific publications. The Radiologist will also collaborate on flagship initiatives and cross-cutting activities within the Agency.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Higher Degree - Medical Doctor Degree with a post-graduate specialization in Radiology. A post-graduate specialization in Nuclear Medicine is considered a significant asset. The position requires a minimum of seven years of professional experience in clinical diagnostic radiology, with proven experience in conducting clinical research, preferably in an academic setting. A strong record of recent publications in international peer-reviewed journals is essential, along with advanced experience in medical education, including web-based teaching resources and distance-assisted training programs for diagnostic imaging professionals. A certificate in education is an asset, and candidates should have good standing in their area of specialization and association with international professional organizations.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Medical Doctor Degree with a specialization in Radiology. Additional qualifications such as a post-graduate specialization in Nuclear Medicine are highly desirable. Candidates should also have a strong foundation in clinical diagnostic radiology and experience in educational training for medical imaging professionals.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of professional experience in clinical diagnostic radiology. Candidates should have a proven track record in conducting clinical research, ideally within an academic environment. Experience in managing international projects and a strong publication record in relevant fields are also essential.

Languages:
Excellent oral and written command of English is mandatory. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and beneficial for the role.

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $86,027, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance.
