Job Overview: The Finance Officer position at DRC in Kyiv is a critical role that involves maintaining accurate accounting records for Fixed Assets (FA) and Low Value Assets (LVA) in compliance with statutory GAAP. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing internal primary documents related to FA and LVA accounting, running depreciation calculations, and controlling the useful life of these assets. Additionally, the Finance Officer will manage the internal movement of FA and LVA between divisions, oversee the writing off of fixed assets, and participate in the annual inventory process. Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance Officer will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: maintaining accounting records for Fixed Assets (FA) and Low Value Assets (LVA) in accordance with statutory GAAP; preparing internal primary documents for FA and LVA accounting; running depreciation calculations based on the selected method; controlling the useful life of FA and LVA; managing the internal movement of FA and LVA between divisions; writing off fixed assets through depreciation, liquidation, sale, or free transfer in the ERP BAF system; participating in the annual inventory of FA and LVA; reconciling actual availability of FA and LVA with accounting data; registering statutory inventory results and reflecting them in accounting; providing management with information on the movement and condition of FA and LVA; writing off fuel in ERP BAF; preparing internal primary documents for fuel accounting; maintaining accounting records of humanitarian aid in compliance with statutory GAAP; preparing monthly reports on the availability and distribution of humanitarian aid; and verifying documents related to DRC's program activities and payments.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the Finance Officer position, candidates must possess a higher education degree in accounting, auditing, finance, or economics. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of experience as an accountant specifically in the area of fixed assets accounting is required. Candidates should have experience in maintaining primary documentation for fixed assets and non-current assets, as well as participating in inventories of these assets. Proficiency in Excel, including the use of spreadsheets, formulas, and analytics, is essential. Familiarity with the BAF system is also required. Candidates with previous experience as an accountant in a public organization and those who have participated in the automation of healthcare accounting will be viewed favorably. An intermediate level of English proficiency is expected, along with strong attention to detail, responsibility, systematic and analytical thinking, and the ability to meet deadlines.
