Job Overview:
Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director - Programs, the mission involves defining strategies and coordinating Action contre la Faim's interventions in the Central African Republic in the fields of health and nutrition. This includes designing, capitalizing on, and evaluating nutritional and health interventions as well as advocacy actions in this sector. The role requires monitoring and coordinating programs in nutrition and health, managing the Nutrition Health team in the capital, and ensuring functional management of the Nutrition Health Program Managers in the field. The position also entails developing and animating programs and advocacy in partnership with national and local stakeholders, representing Action contre la Faim, and advocating for its positions in health and nutrition.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and evaluate health and nutrition interventions, ensuring they meet the needs of the population.
  • Monitor and coordinate ongoing programs in nutrition and health, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Directly manage a Pharmacist and functionally manage two Nutrition Health Program Managers in the field.
  • Develop partnerships with national and local actors to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Represent Action contre la Faim in relevant forums and advocate for health and nutrition issues.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures in all program activities.
  • Provide training and capacity building for team members and local partners.
  • Prepare and submit reports on program progress and challenges to senior management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a higher education degree in health or nutrition, with initial training as a doctor or nurse. A minimum of three years of experience in the humanitarian sector, including management of humanitarian and development programs in high-pressure contexts, is required. Strong management, coaching, and training skills are essential, along with good coordination and planning abilities for national programs. Candidates should also possess external representation skills and be able to position Action contre la Faim's operations in relation to identified health and nutrition issues. Candidates must be rigorous, punctual, analytical, and possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to take initiative. Proficiency in project cycle management and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is necessary, along with excellent reporting skills.

Educational Background:
A higher education degree in health or nutrition is mandatory. Initial training as a medical doctor or nurse is also required to ensure a solid understanding of the health and nutrition sectors.

Experience:
At least three years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, specifically in managing humanitarian and development programs. Experience in high-pressure contexts is essential, demonstrating the ability to work effectively under challenging conditions.

Languages:
Fluency in French (both oral and written) is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, enhancing communication capabilities in diverse environments.

The position is a fixed-term contract under French law for six months, ending on 15/11/202
  • The gross monthly salary ranges from 2597 to 2968 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th month payment. Non-French citizens will receive a retirement insurance reimbursement of 16% of their gross monthly salary. There is a 6% increase in base salary every 12 months of continuous contract. Monthly per diem and living expenses amount to 746 euros net, paid on the ground. Additional monthly context allowance of 150 euros and a child allowance of 1500 euros per year per child present in the home country (with a cap of 6000 euros/year) are provided. Transport and accommodation are covered, with 100% medical coverage for health contributions and repatriation insurance, including medical expenses for up to one month after the contract ends. Salary maintenance provisions are in place for illness, maternity, and paternity. Employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave and 20 rest and recuperation days per year, with travel expenses covered for breaks and a flat allowance of 215 euros per RnR. Professional development support and unlimited access to the Talentsoft e-learning platform are also included. Field travel will include locations such as Ngaoundaye and the Prefecture of Lim-Pendé.
