Job Overview:
The Grants Management Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Danish Refugee Council adheres to donor and internal grant management guidelines. This position involves leading donor-obligated reporting, managing grants information, and providing ongoing technical support throughout the project cycle. The coordinator will work closely with the Support Services team to gather and relay donor-requested information, ensuring compliance and effective communication across the organization. The role requires a proactive approach to managing grants and supporting project teams in meeting their obligations, thereby contributing to the overall success of DRC's mission in Uganda.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants Management Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of donor policies and DRC's guidelines; updating and disseminating grants management tools; ensuring compliance with the grants management system; organizing grants-related information; participating in project management meetings; tracking donor financial disbursements; drafting and reviewing grant agreements; leading donor reporting processes; supporting project cycle management; facilitating partner assessments; preparing documentation for stakeholders; and contributing to communications tasks. The coordinator will also liaise with finance colleagues regarding budget follow-ups and support training for DRC staff and partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Quantitative Economics, Business Statistics, Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Additionally, applicants should have a strong understanding of donor regulations, proven experience in reporting, and a background in capacity building and training. Full professional proficiency in English is required, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving abilities and the capacity to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

Educational Background:
The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Quantitative Economics, Business Statistics, or Management. A Master’s degree in a related area is considered an advantage, as it demonstrates a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in grants management and donor relations.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in grants management, specifically within an international NGO context. At least 2 years of this experience should be in a coordination role, showcasing the ability to manage teams and projects effectively. Experience in working with various donors and understanding their requirements is essential for success in this position.

Languages:
Full professional proficiency in English is mandatory for this role, as the coordinator will be responsible for producing well-written reports and communications. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial, particularly if they are relevant to the communities served by DRC in Uganda.

This position is a full-time role with a contract length of 12 months, based in Kampala, Uganda. The start date is projected for March 202
