Job Overview:
The AI Hub Design and Engagement Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the design of new programs within the AI Hub, which is part of UNDP's broader initiative to leverage digital technology for sustainable development. This position requires a strategic leader who can coordinate and ensure accountability across various partnerships and program conceptualization efforts. The manager will be responsible for identifying key trends and insights from diverse stakeholder groups, including those from the G7 and African nations, and will work closely with the AI Hub Director to manage governance groups and stakeholder communications. The role also involves contributing to global partnerships and ensuring that the AI Hub's vision aligns with UNDP's objectives for sustainable development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The AI Hub Design and Engagement Manager will lead the design and execution of sustainable development programs related to AI, focusing on local ecosystem development and new partnerships. Responsibilities include building processes and methodologies for scaling partnerships, supporting contributions from Italy and G7 countries, and identifying partnership trends to keep UNDP at the forefront of AI and digital development. The manager will also oversee the implementation of AI Hub programs, establish touchpoints for sourcing new AI ideas, and collaborate with various teams to ensure effective communication and coordination. Additionally, the manager will manage advocacy efforts, participate in global AI forums, and contribute to knowledge management within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a proven track record of leading impactful multi-stakeholder initiatives and building strategic partnerships in the global development and technology sectors. They should have experience in designing partnerships with the private sector and a deep understanding of AI infrastructure, data governance, and digital public infrastructure, particularly in least developed countries (LDCs) and Africa. Exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with the ability to influence global policy and drive organizational change.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Design, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology management, Education, or a relevant technical field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the stated areas combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience is required for candidates with a master's degree, or 9 years for those with a bachelor's degree. This experience should include a focus on AI, digital transformation, or sustainable development, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another official UN language or a local language from partner countries is advantageous, as it can enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
