The FAO Animal Production and Health Division hosts the partnership, ensuring that its activities are grounded in international best practices. The Secretariat acts as the central coordinating body, providing both technical and administrative support to FAO LEAP partners and facilitating the work of Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) to guide content development and alignment with FAO's mission.

Job Overview:
The Multistakeholder Partnership Specialist will play a crucial role as a full member of the FAO LEAP Partnership Secretariat. This position involves providing both technical and administrative support to enhance governance, coordination, knowledge sharing, outreach, and the delivery of the work programme. The specialist will focus on advancing multistakeholder collaboration aimed at achieving sustainable livestock and agrifood systems, particularly in the area of environmental assessment and performance. Responsibilities include supporting the coordination, dissemination, and uptake of FAO LEAP guidelines, technical reports, methodologies, tools, and good practices. The role also entails facilitating dialogue between science, policy, and practice, contributing to technical communication, knowledge management, and capacity development, and strengthening engagement with various stakeholders, including governments, research institutions, international organizations, civil society, producer organizations, the private sector, and financial institutions. Additionally, the specialist will identify and promote emerging scientific, policy, and partnership opportunities for sustainable livestock transformation, including aspects like digital innovation, environmental data, sustainable finance, and responsible private-sector engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Multistakeholder Partnership Specialist include: supporting the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the LEAP Partnership work programme; following up on agreed actions, workplans, timelines, and deliverables; assisting in the coordination, preparation, review, editing, dissemination, and uptake of LEAP guidelines, technical reports, policy briefs, e-learning courses, methodologies, tools, presentations, and other knowledge products; supporting training, technical guidance, webinars, and other capacity-development activities that promote the global use of LEAP guidelines, tools, and good practices; mapping key stakeholders and building lasting relationships with LEAP Steering Committee members and partners across various sectors; assisting with the preparation and follow-up of meetings for the LEAP Steering Committee, Technical Advisory Groups, Scientific Advisory Group, and other Partnership bodies; organizing and facilitating technical consultations, expert meetings, webinars, workshops, global conferences, and other events involving LEAP partners and external stakeholders; identifying strategic partnership opportunities, engaging donors, preparing concept notes and project proposals, and coordinating related fundraising and partnership-development activities; maintaining accurate, accessible, and up-to-date records of partners, contacts, meetings, workplans, technical outputs, correspondence, and other Secretariat documentation; and performing other relevant technical, coordination, communication, and administrative duties as needed to support the effective operation of the FAO LEAP Partnership Secretariat.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the position include: for consultants, an advanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in fields such as Agricultural, Biological, Animal, Environmental, Food, Social or Veterinary Science, Livestock Engineering, Agronomy, Natural Resource Management, Agricultural or Development Economics, International Development or Relations, International or Public Policy, Programme or Project Management, Business or Public Administration, Partnership Development Management, Public Relations or Affairs, Communications, or another field directly relevant to the work of FAO and multistakeholder partnerships. Consultants with a bachelor's degree are required to have two additional years of relevant professional experience. For PSA subscribers, a university degree or technical specialization in similar fields is required. Additionally, at least 1 year of relevant experience is required for Category C, while 5 years is required for Category B, specifically in multistakeholder partnership coordination, project coordination, or management, including engagement with various sectors.

Educational Background:
The educational background needed for this position includes an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Agricultural, Biological, Animal, Environmental, Food, Social or Veterinary Science, Livestock Engineering, Agronomy, Natural Resource Management, Agricultural or Development Economics, International Development or Relations, International or Public Policy, Programme or Project Management, Business or Public Administration, Partnership Development Management, Public Relations or Affairs, Communications, or another field directly relevant to the work of FAO and multistakeholder partnerships. For those with a bachelor's degree, two additional years of relevant professional experience are required.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for the position includes at least 1 year of relevant experience for Category C or 5 years for Category B in areas such as multistakeholder partnership coordination, project coordination, or management. This experience should include engagement with governments, research and/or academic institutions, international organizations, civil society, private-sector actors, and/or development partners.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is a working knowledge of English at Level C. Knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset and is encouraged for candidates.
