Job Overview:
The AI Hub Campaign Knowledge Specialist will be instrumental in shaping the narrative and strategic direction of the AI Hub for Sustainable Development. This role involves co-designing innovative programs and leading campaigns that mobilize stakeholder action, establishing the AI Hub as a key player in the development landscape. The Specialist will work closely with various partners, including G7 nations and African governments, to amplify the impact of AI initiatives. The position requires a deep understanding of AI foundations for development and private sector growth, as well as the ability to generate actionable insights that drive the successful delivery of the AI Hub's objectives. The Specialist will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies, ensuring alignment with the overarching goals of the AI Hub.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The AI Hub Campaign Knowledge Specialist will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Leading the design and implementation of the knowledge and insights strategy for the AI Hub, generating timely insights to inform programming.
  • Collaborating with the AI Hub Head of Programme Design & Engagement and other teams to build methodologies and campaign strategies.
  • Supporting partnership development with Italy, G7 countries, and African governments to catalyze actions through effective campaigns.
  • Conducting stakeholder mapping and analysis to develop and execute AI Hub program campaigns, setting clear objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Establishing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to guide strategy implementation, including setting KPIs and conducting stakeholder interviews.
  • Designing innovative approaches to connect media, communities, and communications teams to harness AI development opportunities.
  • Steering research to identify priority themes for thought leadership and managing stakeholder events to spotlight AI opportunities and challenges.
  • Performing other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Design, Business Administration, Engineering, or Information Technology management. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) combined with two additional years of qualifying experience will be considered. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required for those with a master’s degree, or 7 years for those with a bachelor’s degree, specifically in AI, digital transformation, or sustainable development. Proven experience in leading multi-stakeholder campaigns and managing diverse partner visibility is essential, along with a deep understanding of stakeholder dynamics in developing regions.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in fields such as Design, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology management, or Education. Candidates with a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in these areas, along with two additional years of relevant experience, will also be considered. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of AI and digital transformation in the context of sustainable development.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience for candidates with a master’s degree, or 7 years for those with a bachelor’s degree. This experience should be in areas related to AI, digital transformation, or sustainable development. Candidates should have a proven track record of leading impactful campaigns, managing partnerships, and navigating high-stakes environments. Experience in project management and the ability to influence global policy and drive organizational change are also critical for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another official UN language or a local language from partner countries is considered advantageous. This linguistic proficiency is essential for effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders across various regions.

Additional Notes:
The position is open to all applicants and may involve working with various contract types as defined by UNDP's tier system. The role is expected to be full-time, and the incumbent will report directly to the AI Hub Head of Programme Design & Engagement. The position may require participation in global AI forums and conferences, as well as managing stakeholder events to highlight the opportunities and challenges of AI development.
