Job Overview: The Driver position is integral to the Dalan Digital Project, which aims to enhance digital governance and public service delivery in Timor-Leste. The Driver will be responsible for providing reliable and safe transportation services for project personnel, authorized officials, and visitors. This role is crucial in supporting the project's objectives by facilitating the movement of staff during field trips, workshops, and other project-related activities. The Driver will also play a key role in ensuring the proper maintenance and operation of project vehicles, contributing to cost savings and efficiency in transportation. The position requires a proactive approach to vehicle management, including daily maintenance checks and adherence to safety regulations. The Driver will work closely with the National ProjectAdministration and Finance Officer, ensuring effective communication and coordination with the project team and stakeholders to achieve the project's goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Driver will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Providing reliable and safe driving services for project personnel, authorized officials, and visitors, ensuring timely transportation for meetings, field trips, and other project-related activities.
Maintaining accurate daily vehicle logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance records, to support the preparation of vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
Conducting routine checks on the assigned vehicle, including oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Performing minor repairs and coordinating major repairs as needed, ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and in good working condition.
Ensuring the availability of all required documents and supplies in the vehicle, including insurance, vehicle logs, maps, and first aid kits.
Taking immediate action in accordance with rules and regulations in the event of an accident.
Supporting project personnel during workshops and field trips by facilitating their movements and assisting with document delivery.
Performing other duties as assigned by the National Project Administration and Finance Officer to ensure the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Required Qualifications: The position requires several qualifications, including:
Secondary education is required, along with a valid driving license.
A minimum of 2 years of driving experience in Dili and various regions of Timor-Leste is essential.
Experience working as a driver for international organizations, UN agencies, government, or NGOs is highly desirable.
Knowledge of local driving conditions and regulations in all territories, including Oecusse, is necessary.
Skills in vehicle maintenance and safety checks, including the use of daily vehicle logs and maintenance plans, are required.
Experience providing logistical support during workshops and managing vehicle inspection and registration documents is an asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes secondary education, which provides the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for effective driving and vehicle management. A valid driving license is also mandatory to ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant driving experience, specifically in Dili and various municipalities of Timor-Leste.
