Job Overview:
The Driver position at UN Women is crucial for providing reliable and safe transportation services to staff, personnel, and visitors. The Driver will report to the Operations Manager and may also be tasked with providing driving services to various staff members, including consultants and experts. In addition to driving, the Driver will be responsible for basic administrative and clerical support to the UN Women Country Office. This position is essential for ensuring that UN Women staff can perform their duties effectively and safely, contributing to the organization's mission of promoting gender equality and women's empowerment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's primary responsibilities include providing reliable and secure driving services for authorized personnel, delivering and collecting mail and documents, and meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport. The Driver must ensure that all passengers wear seatbelts and adhere to safety regulations, taking immediate action in case of accidents. The role also involves maintaining vehicle logs, ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition, and performing minor repairs. The Driver is responsible for keeping the vehicle clean and well-maintained, ensuring that all necessary documents and supplies are available in the vehicle. Additionally, the Driver will assist office staff with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and distribution of publications. The incumbent may also perform other duties as needed to support the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a valid driver's license. A minimum of two years of experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system is required, along with a safe driving record. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent driving skills, knowledge of local driving rules and regulations, and the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs. A client-oriented approach and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. Candidates must also hold a valid driver's license, which is essential for performing the driving duties associated with the role.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of relevant experience as a driver, preferably within an international organization, embassy, or the UN system. A proven safe driving record is essential, as the role involves transporting personnel and ensuring their safety during travel.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, along with fluency in Tetum. These language skills are necessary for effective communication with staff and stakeholders in the region.
