Job Overview: The position of Chargé.e de Reporting et de Communication (RCO) is crucial for the effective communication and reporting of the organization's activities in Haiti. Under the supervision and support of the grant coordinator, the RCO's primary role is to produce and synthesize reports, project proposals, and other communication documents. The RCO is responsible for ensuring compliance with donor regulations and contributing to the improvement of internal communication within the mission. Additionally, the RCO will be involved in designing a communication strategy aimed at external audiences. This role requires maintaining high-quality written productions in both French and English, participating in capacity-building efforts for field colleagues regarding report writing and project proposal expectations, and contributing to the development of internal and external communication materials. The RCO will also assist in compiling documentation for audits and enhancing the mission's understanding of donor strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Chargé.e de Reporting et de Communication include:
Producing and synthesizing high-quality reports and communication documents in both French and English.
Ensuring compliance with donor regulations and guidelines in all reporting activities.
Collaborating with the grant coordinator to strengthen the capacity of field colleagues in report writing and project proposal development.
Developing and maintaining internal and external communication materials that effectively convey the mission's objectives and achievements.
Participating in the compilation of documentation for audits and ensuring that all necessary information is readily available.
Contributing to the mission's knowledge of donor strategies and expectations to enhance funding opportunities.
Engaging in field visits to gather information and insights for reporting purposes.
Supporting the overall communication strategy of the organization to enhance visibility and impact.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the position include:
Experience in the humanitarian sector, preferably between 0-2 years.
Previous experience in a similar role would be an asset.
Technical skills in understanding the rules and procedures of various institutional donors.
Strong writing, analytical, and synthesis skills.
Planning, organizational, and coordination abilities.
Knowledge of communication tools and materials, with a willingness to develop these skills further.
Diplomatic skills and experience working in intercultural environments.
Willingness to travel to field locations as needed.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a higher education degree in fields such as political science, development, international relations, or an equivalent qualification. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of humanitarian work and the reporting requirements associated with it.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have experience in the humanitarian sector, ideally ranging from 0 to 2 years. While prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The organization values fresh perspectives and is open to candidates who are eager to learn and grow within the humanitarian field.
Languages: Fluency in French, both written and oral, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in English, also written and oral, is required to ensure effective communication with international stakeholders and donors. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
Additional Notes: The position is a short-term contract based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The salary is competitive and based on experience, starting from EUR 2035 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 1850 plus a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 750 is provided. The organization covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. During the mission, a work and leave rotation system is implemented, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with an additional day of rest for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance that covers all medical expenses, including dental and ophthalmological care, as well as repatriation. Vaccination and necessary malaria treatment costs are reimbursed. The position is based in a secure guest house with individual rooms located 1 km from the office, offering a good standard of living with amenities such as a swimming pool and tennis court. The office is situated in a residential area, providing access to restaurants, supermarkets, and shops to meet all needs.
