Job Overview: The Finance and Human ResourcesCoordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring that the financial and human resources management within the organization aligns with HI’s policies and local regulations. Reporting to the Darfur Area Manager, the coordinator will provide guidance to managers in the geographical area regarding HR processes and will be responsible for financial steering and operational financial management. The role also involves maintaining a positive social environment in the area and supporting local implementing partners in financial and HR aspects. The position is particularly significant as HI scales up its response to the ongoing crisis in Sudan, focusing on inclusive humanitarian action and basic needs activities such as WASH and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security. The coordinator will be instrumental in addressing challenges such as finalizing reporting for previous grants, developing relationships with local partners, contributing to fundraising efforts, and recruiting and supporting the local team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of future staff, ensuring effective recruitment and support for the local team.
Operational implementation of HR processes, including overseeing the quality of program resources, career management, and skills development systems.
Coordination and guarantee of quality in the administrative management of all staff members.
Assisting managers in implementing HI's HR policies.
Operational implementation of finance, ensuring comprehensive financial and budget management, accounts management, and compliance with donor guidelines and contractual obligations.
Ensuring effective cash-flow management.
Preparing for and responding to emergencies as required, ensuring that the organization is ready to act swiftly in crisis situations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a proven experience of at least 4 years in a coordination position, specifically in finance and HR. Experience working in remote field areas is essential, with a preference for candidates who have experience in an African context. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal qualities, including patience, teamwork, rigor, and a systematic approach to tasks. Proficiency in professional English is mandatory, as effective communication is crucial in this role.

Additional Notes: This is a 6-month international contract starting from March 2026, based in Tawilah, North Darfur. The contract includes social coverage adapted to the mission context, such as unemployment insurance benefits for EU nationals, a pension scheme, and medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution. Repatriation insurance is covered by HI. The salary starts at 2757€ gross per month, depending on experience, with a per diem of 738€ net per month while in the field. Additionally, there is a hardship allowance of 500 euros per month. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year and 5 days of rest and recuperation every 8 weeks.
