Job Overview:
As a Platform Engineer at EBRD, you will play a crucial role in designing and supporting cloud-native platforms that are essential for the bank's cloud-first strategy. This position requires a strong focus on DevOps practices, where you will be responsible for building, evolving, and maintaining secure and highly available Azure platforms that support modern, containerized applications. You will work at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, and observability, ensuring that the platforms are resilient and can be trusted by engineering teams. Your influence will extend to re-architecting legacy workloads and enabling cloud-native microservices, making this role pivotal in shaping how platforms are designed, deployed, and operated at an enterprise scale.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Platform Engineer include designing and supporting hyperscale Azure architectures, building and operating container platforms and orchestration tooling in production, enabling enterprise-grade application architectures, and designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. You will implement Infrastructure as Code to manage platforms consistently, use configuration management tools to standardize environments, and integrate observability tooling to ensure platforms are measurable and reliable. Additionally, you will apply DevOps tools and practices to both cloud-native and on-premise workloads, support workload migrations, re-architect applications for cloud-native environments, consult across squads to embed DevOps best practices, and troubleshoot platform, infrastructure, and application performance issues.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Azure-based platforms, along with strong experience in containerized and microservice-oriented architectures. A solid understanding of infrastructure management and troubleshooting is essential, as well as experience applying DevOps practices across cloud and on-premise environments. The ability to consult with and influence multiple engineering squads is crucial, as is a pragmatic, automation-first approach to platform engineering.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, or related areas will be considered an asset.

Experience:
The position requires a hands-on approach with significant experience in platform engineering, particularly in cloud environments. Candidates should have a track record of successfully designing and implementing cloud-native solutions and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the EBRD. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the regions served by the EBRD would be considered a plus, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.

This is a fixed-term contract position with a duration of three years. The role is full-time, and the EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to work in the office 50% of the time.
