Job Overview:
The Cloud Network Engineer position is a critical role within the Information Technology division of the EBRD, focusing on designing and implementing secure, high-performance cloud networks at an enterprise scale. The successful candidate will work primarily with Microsoft Azure and will be responsible for enabling developers while maintaining a strong emphasis on security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and resilience. This hands-on role requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking, as the engineer will be tasked with shaping the network foundations of the EBRD's cloud platform. The role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure that network services support the organization's broader platform and application estate, ultimately allowing product teams to operate efficiently without compromising safety or stability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Cloud Network Engineer will have a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: designing and supporting secure and scalable Azure network architectures across multiple landing zones, subscriptions, and tenants; enabling hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity, including peering and enterprise integration; delivering a 'golden path' for developers that balances security, usability, and velocity; implementing strong network segregation using Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), routing, and security appliances; owning and improving perimeter and edge services such as Web Application Firewalls (both SaaS and Azure-native), DDoS protection, SSL VPNs, and load balancing including Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB); working with firewalls and threat-prevention platforms from vendors like Microsoft, Palo Alto, Check Point, and Cisco; supporting identity and access flows that intersect with network design; collaborating closely with managed service providers and professional service partners; and designing with non-functional requirements in mind, including security, availability, scalability, and performance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Cloud Network Engineer position should possess proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud network technologies, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure networking. A solid understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, and security, is essential. Experience working in hybrid and/or multi-cloud environments is also required, along with a security-first mindset and practical experience across perimeter and network security services. Additionally, candidates should have experience working alongside managed service providers or delivery partners.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should hold relevant certifications or be working towards them, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (or equivalent), Cisco CCNP or a similar enterprise networking certification, and ITIL Foundation or basic service management knowledge. A degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering is typically preferred, although equivalent practical experience may also be considered.

Experience:
The position requires a strong level of experience in cloud networking, specifically with Microsoft Azure. Candidates should have a proven track record of designing and implementing cloud network solutions, as well as hands-on experience in managing and supporting these technologies.
