The ODIHR organizes significant events such as the Human Dimension Implementation Meeting and the Human Dimension Seminar, which gather hundreds of participants annually to discuss and promote human rights and democratic practices.

Job Overview:
The Associate Human Dimension Meetings Officer plays a crucial role in the planning, organization, and execution of OSCE Human Dimension meetings and related events. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that all meetings are conducted efficiently and meet the high standards expected by the OSCE. The incumbent will work closely with the Associate Human Dimension Meetings Officer to support the organization of various human dimension meetings, ensuring that all logistical and operational aspects are handled effectively. This includes coordinating with stakeholders, providing participant support, and managing documentation and administrative tasks. The role demands a strong ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining a focus on quality and stakeholder satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Human Dimension Meetings Officer include:
  • Planning and delivering Human Dimension meetings by contributing specialized input throughout all phases, including planning, preparation, delivery, conduct, and follow-up.
  • Supporting internal preparatory processes by collecting, analyzing, and compiling necessary information for the organization of meetings.
  • Ensuring that meetings are delivered in accordance with agreed objectives, timelines, and organizational standards.
  • Coordinating side events associated with Human Dimension meetings, engaging with OSCE participating States and high-level officials.
  • Acting as a focal point for organizational coordination between ODIHR, the OSCE Secretariat, and other executive structures.
  • Providing timely and accurate information to participants, including Heads of Delegations, regarding meeting substance and procedures.
  • Ensuring effective logistical and technical support to participants before and during meetings, addressing operational issues as they arise.
  • Drafting correspondence, briefing materials, and presentations related to Human Dimension meetings.
  • Performing administrative and records management tasks to support the effective functioning of the Unit. 1
  • Overseeing the delivery of agreed services during meetings and ensuring compliance with standards. 1
  • Collecting feedback from participants and contributing to post-event reviews to enhance future meetings.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires completed secondary education and a minimum of six years of relevant work experience. Candidates should have experience supporting large-scale meetings or conferences, including preparation, on-site assistance, and follow-up activities. Professional exposure to international or multilateral organizations, particularly the OSCE or similar institutions, is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate strong administrative and drafting skills, proficiency in Microsoft applications, and excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. A very good knowledge of Russian or Polish is required, with a good knowledge of the other language being desirable. Candidates should also exhibit gender awareness and sensitivity, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams while maintaining impartiality.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Further education or specialized training in administration, international relations, or a related field would be advantageous but is not mandatory.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of six years of relevant work experience, particularly in roles that involve supporting large-scale meetings or conferences. Experience in international or multilateral organizations, especially in logistical and operational support roles, is highly valued. Hands-on experience in participant services, room setups, and accreditation processes during live events is essential.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills required. Additionally, candidates must have very good knowledge of either Russian or Polish, with a good knowledge of the other language being desirable. Proficiency in other languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract at the General Services level (G6) with a full-time schedule. The monthly remuneration is approximately PLN 10,570, subject to social security deductions. OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Poland, and the organization provides participation in a medical insurance scheme and a pension-style fund.
