The volunteer will utilize project briefs and organizational data to draft customized grant proposals and concept notes, ensuring that they meet the specific requirements of each funding opportunity. This position requires collaboration with APWCR’s Programs Officer, who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the proposal writing process. The volunteer will also prepare supporting documents such as budgets, cover letters, and organizational profiles, which are essential for a comprehensive grant application. • Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy by providing insights and recommendations based on research and proposal outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with grant writing processes and requirements for various funding sources, including government, foundations, and NGOs.
  • Excellent research skills to identify and analyze funding opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • A commitment to the mission of APWCR and an understanding of issues related to human rights, gender justice, and community empowerment.

Educational Background:
A background in fields such as nonprofit management, social sciences, international relations, or a related area is preferred. Candidates with relevant coursework or certifications in grant writing or fundraising will be viewed favorably. A degree is not strictly required, but relevant experience and skills are essential.

Experience:
Previous experience in grant writing or fundraising for nonprofit organizations is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successful grant proposals or relevant volunteer work that showcases their ability to contribute effectively to fundraising efforts. Experience working with vulnerable communities or knowledge of human rights issues will be an advantage.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as all communication and documentation will be conducted in English. Additional languages relevant to the communities served by APWCR may be considered an asset, enhancing the volunteer's ability to connect with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position, and while it is not a paid role, it offers valuable experience in grant writing and nonprofit operations. The position is flexible and can be performed remotely, allowing volunteers to contribute from anywhere.
