Job Overview:
The Product Lead will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day development activities of the application development team within UNRWA. This role involves the design, testing, development, and deployment of eUNRWA solutions, which include web applications and interfaces that interact with both internal and external partner systems. The incumbent will coordinate with various units within the Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID) to ensure that the software solutions are high-performing, optimized, and compliant with defined standards. The position requires a strong focus on product lifecycle management, from discovery and roadmap planning to delivery and iteration, ensuring that all products align with business goals and maintain high quality, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and performance standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Product Lead include leading the end-to-end product lifecycle, overseeing the development of mobile and web applications using React Native for the front-end, Python/Django for middleware, and Dynamics365 for the backend. The incumbent will guide the design and implementation of scalable RESTful APIs and integrations, ensuring product quality and alignment with business objectives. Responsibilities also include providing technical direction, mentoring cross-functional development teams, troubleshooting product issues, prioritizing backlog items, and driving continuous improvement. The Product Lead will prepare product documentation, release notes, and stakeholder communications, deliver regular progress updates, and lead agile ceremonies across teams. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in computer sciences, information technology, or a related discipline. Alternatively, a relevant first-level university degree combined with two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A minimum of 5 years of experience in product leadership, software development, or technical delivery roles is required. Proven experience in leading teams that deliver products built with React Native, Python/Django, and RESTful integrations is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience managing and enhancing Dynamics 365 CE modules, including customization and workflows, as well as a strong background in defining product roadmaps and driving agile delivery across cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills are also necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in computer sciences, information technology, or a related field. In cases where candidates possess a relevant first-level university degree, they must also have two years of qualifying experience to be considered for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in product leadership, software development, or technical delivery roles. Candidates should have a proven track record of leading teams in delivering products built with technologies such as React Native, Python/Django, and RESTful integrations. Experience in managing Dynamics 365 CE modules and driving agile delivery across teams is also essential.

Languages:
The working languages of UNRWA are English and Arabic. For this position, fluency in English is required, while knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is based in UNRWA HQA in Amman, Jordan. The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration equivalent to P3 Step 1, amounting to $7,924.25 for each fully completed month. The contract duration is up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension subject to the availability of funds, continuing need, and satisfactory performance. The role operates under the overall supervision of the Head of Software Development and Lead Solutions Architect Section within the DITID. It is important to note that the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
