Job Overview:
The Project Support Consultant will play a crucial role in the implementation of the Digital Archive Initiative within the Relief and Social Services Department (RSSD). This position involves providing day-to-day coordination, administrative, and documentation support to ensure the smooth operation of the project. The Consultant will be responsible for organizing and documenting meetings, tracking project progress, maintaining project records, and preparing routine updates and presentations. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure that project information is accurate and up to date, and that all stakeholders are well-informed about deadlines and deliverables. The Consultant will also assist in coordinating with various teams and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Support Consultant will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including: 1) Coordinating project meetings by scheduling them, preparing agendas, circulating materials, and managing logistics. 2) Taking detailed meeting notes and minutes to document key discussions, decisions, action points, responsibilities, and deadlines. 3) Maintaining action trackers and following up with project teams, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders on outstanding actions. 4) Tracking project progress against workplans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and deadlines, and highlighting any delays or issues that require attention. 5) Preparing routine project updates, progress summaries, briefing notes, presentations, and other reporting materials for management and stakeholders. 6) Supporting coordination among RSSD colleagues, archive and research teams, consultants, vendors, service providers, and other project stakeholders. 7) Assisting with stakeholder consultations, workshops, project reviews, donor-related activities, and other project meetings and events. 8) Performing other project coordination, documentation, and administrative support duties related to the initiative as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires several qualifications, including: 1) An advanced university degree (Master’s degree) in project management, business administration, public administration, management, international relations, development, social sciences, information management, or another relevant field. Alternatively, a first-level degree (bachelor’s degree) in the specified fields with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. 2) Professional training or certification in project management, programme management, administration, information management, or a related area is desirable. 3) A minimum of two years of relevant experience in project coordination, project support, administration, operations, or a related field is required, including at least one year of international relevant experience outside of the candidate’s home country.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree) in relevant fields such as project management, business administration, public administration, management, international relations, development, social sciences, or information management. A first-level degree (bachelor’s degree) in these fields, combined with two additional years of relevant work experience, may also be considered acceptable. Professional training or certification in project management or related areas is considered an asset.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in project coordination, project support, administration, or operations. This experience must include at least one year of international relevant experience outside of the candidate’s home country. Candidates should have experience in organizing meetings, preparing minutes, tracking actions, and following up on deadlines and deliverables. Additionally, experience in preparing progress updates, presentations, reports, and maintaining project documentation is essential. Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, consultants, vendors, or service providers is desirable, as is experience working on issues related to Palestine refugees or the Middle East region.

Languages:
Candidates must have an excellent command of written and spoken English. A working knowledge of Arabic would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and contributing to the project's success.

Additional Notes:
The expected duration of the contract is 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance evaluation and availability of funds. The position is full-time, and the remuneration is set at 5,500 USD per month. It is important to note that the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process, including application, interview, or training. Furthermore, the organization does not request information regarding applicants' bank accounts.
