This branch serves as a multimedia service that promotes the ideals of the UN, including peace and respect for human rights, through the production of diverse audio, video, and multimedia content in nine languages. The intern will gain practical experience in a dynamic newsroom environment, focusing on the creation of daily news articles, in-depth features, and multimedia products in Portuguese. The role is designed for individuals eager to learn about the UN's operations and contribute to its mission through effective communication and storytelling.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include drafting news articles in Portuguese by synthesizing and translating information from various sources such as reports, press releases, and official statements. They will also proofread articles before and after publication, assist with fact-checking and background research, and contribute to the production of graphic, visual, and audio content. The intern will have the opportunity to work on feature stories, conduct interviews, and engage in research activities. Additionally, they will review the partnerships database in collaboration with the UN Partnerships Unit, seeking new digital media partners and trustworthy entities focused on fact-checking and media literacy. Other duties may be assigned as needed, including outreach activities.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, Portuguese, or translation studies. Alternatively, candidates may be in their final year of a bachelor's degree in the same fields. Proficiency in standard word processing and spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, is essential. A demonstrated interest in the UN's work and a commitment to its ideals are also required, along with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Educational Background:
