Job Overview:
This internship is designed to provide practical experience in the field of disaster risk reduction and information and communications technology. Interns will work closely with the Disaster Risk Reduction Section (DRS) of ESCAP, contributing to projects that aim to enhance regional cooperation and capacity in disaster management. The role is full-time and unpaid, lasting between two to six months, depending on the needs of the division. Interns are expected to commit to working five days a week, totaling 35 hours, under the supervision of experienced professionals in the field. Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in a variety of tasks that contribute to the objectives of the Disaster Risk Reduction Section. Responsibilities may include conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses on the socio-economic impacts of disasters, assisting in the organization of international conferences and meetings, and performing other ad hoc tasks as required by the Section and Division. The specific duties will vary based on the intern's background, assigned office, and the duration of the internship. Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). No prior work experience is necessary to apply for this internship, making it an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain experience in the field of international development and disaster risk management.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a strong academic background in fields related to disaster risk reduction, information technology, social sciences, or other relevant disciplines.
