Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be involved in a variety of tasks that may include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with projects related to gender statistics, population and housing census, migration, displacement and statelessness statistics, disability statistics, and citizen data.
Conducting literature reviews on statistical frameworks and indicators relevant to the aforementioned areas.
Contributing to the drafting of background papers, presentations, blogs, and technical documents.
Supporting the organization and servicing of meetings and events, including Expert Group Meetings and workshops, which involves preparation of materials, note-taking, and follow-up activities.
Providing support for capacity-building activities aimed at enhancing statistical capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.
Assisting with communication efforts related to the section's work, including newsletters and online platforms.
Performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent). No prior work experience is required, but applicants should possess relevant training, education, or skills that would benefit the United Nations during their internship.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program or the final year of an undergraduate program. This educational requirement ensures that interns have a solid academic foundation to contribute effectively to the work of the United Nations.
