Job Overview: The position of Online Volunteer for Translation involves translating the Nauru Declaration on Judicial Well-Being from English to Laos. This task is crucial as it supports the implementation of the Declaration, which was adopted during the Regional Judicial Conference on Ethics and Judicial Well-being held in Nauru in July 202
The Declaration addresses the well-being concerns of judicial officers globally and emphasizes the importance of mental, emotional, and psychological health in the judiciary. The translation task requires the volunteers to ensure that the document, which is 945 words long, is translated concisely and aligns with the UNODC's communications guidelines. The selected volunteers will receive the original document and guidance on the target audience, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to the judicial well-being initiative while also building connections with the Pacific UNODC Office.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteers will be responsible for the following duties:
Translate the Nauru Declaration on Judicial Well-Being from English to Laos, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Adhere to the communications guidelines provided by UNODC to ensure the translation is appropriate for the target audience.
Collaborate with UNODC staff to clarify any ambiguities in the text and receive feedback on the translation.
