Job Overview:
The ICT Help Desk Assistant will play a crucial role in implementing information and communication technology (ICT) management systems and strategies while providing daily technical support to users of information management tools and technological infrastructure. This position requires a proactive approach to improving office productivity through the effective use of new technologies. The assistant will work under the authority of the UN Women Resident Representative, with direct supervision from the Administration and Finance Officer and technical supervision from the Regional ICT Officer. The role emphasizes a client-oriented approach to ensure that all ICT-related needs are met efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall mission of ONU Femmes in Côte d'Ivoire.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of ICT management systems and strategies by ensuring compliance with information and communication management standards, guidelines, and procedures. Provide IT support for the use of Quantum (PeopleSoft ERP) to enhance business results and customer service.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of office hardware and software by executing routine technical tasks, including changing electronic components and performing routine repairs. Support the installation of internally developed software and ensure related upgrades. Assist users with file backup and restoration, as well as virus detection, removal, and prevention.
  • Manage network administration by responding to user needs and questions regarding network access, supporting LAN/WAN infrastructure maintenance, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and cybersecurity standards. Maintain backup logs and organize off-site storage of backups while monitoring network availability and bandwidth usage.
  • Provide administrative support by maintaining an up-to-date inventory of software and hardware, managing a library of ICT reference documents, and supporting key events with ICT needs. Maintain unit and office files, prepare routine correspondence, and archive data from various sources.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within the office by participating in and assisting with staff training on ICT issues, maintaining a reference document library, and synthesizing lessons learned and best practices in ICT.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of PC/LAN operating systems, Microsoft Windows, enterprise ICT security systems, and antivirus protection. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware issues and familiarity with videoconferencing and telecommunications systems are essential. The candidate should be capable of performing a variety of specialized and non-specialized tasks and processes related to ICT management.

Educational Background:
A secondary school diploma (baccalauréat) or a Computer Technician Certificate (BT Informatique) is required. A bachelor's degree (BAC + 3) in computer science or networking is desirable. Additional training in computer science, IT systems, business software (Microsoft Office), and web-based applications is preferred. Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are also desired. If the CCNA certification is not available at the time of recruitment, it must be obtained within six months.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least five years of professional experience for secondary school level or two years of experience for bachelor's degree holders in network management and the use of hardware/software, telecommunications installations, or related fields. Experience with the UN system in ICT and logistics would be an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in French is required, while knowledge of English or another UN language is considered an asset but not mandatory.
