Job Overview: The Associate Project Officer position is a critical role within the Indonesia Resident Mission of the Southeast Asia Department at ADB. The individual in this role will be responsible for a variety of analytical, statistical, and administrative tasks that support project administration and portfolio management. This includes managing loan, grant, and technical assistance (TA) administration, overseeing procurement processes, and ensuring effective project financial management. The Associate Project Officer will also monitor project implementation, assess impacts and performance, and provide analytical inputs for portfolio review meetings. The role requires close collaboration with project teams and government counterparts to identify challenges and recommend solutions, ensuring that projects meet their planned outputs and outcomes. The position is based in Jakarta, Indonesia, and reports to designated Technical International Staff, making it essential for the candidate to have strong communication and teamwork skills.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Project Officer include:
Analyzing country portfolio performance by collecting, updating, and analyzing project data.
Reviewing and commenting on project reports, briefing notes, and responses to requests.
Monitoring project implementation progress and assessing impact and performance.
Tracking project implementation performance to ensure delivery of planned outputs and outcomes.
Collaborating with project officers to review management arrangements and identify challenges.
Supporting project teams in organizing capacity-building activities, including workshops and seminars.
Maintaining project-related documents and records.
Performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Associate Project Officer position must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Social Development, or a related field, with a preference for those with advanced training. Additionally, candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in development assistance, portfolio management, or project administration. A strong understanding of the project cycle, information management systems, and procurement processes in multilateral development banks is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency in spreadsheet analysis and information technology, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and the national language.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Social Development. Additional Notes: This position is a local staff appointment, open only to nationals and permanent residents of Indonesia. It is a fixed-term appointment with the possibility of renewal, initially for a period of up to 3 years or until the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes first. After the initial term, ADB may choose to renew the appointment based on various factors, including the staff's performance and the organization's needs.
