Job Overview: The Country Program Manager will oversee the Nepal country program office, managing people, partners, resources, and deliverables in alignment with CRS's mission and objectives. This role involves acting as a representative and ambassador for CRS and the USCCB, engaging with key stakeholders such as local government, partners, and donors. The manager will identify funding opportunities to advance CRS's strategy and ensure the continuation of its work to serve the poor and marginalized. The position requires ensuring high-quality programming and continuous improvement in program impact, coordinating activities across various projects to ensure integration and efficiency in implementation. The manager will also be responsible for developing strategic partnerships, championing local leadership development, and ensuring compliance with donor expectations and regulatory guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Country Program Manager will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with national and international organizations, ensuring strong representation to key stakeholders, including local partners, international organizations, host government, and donors. The manager will champion local leadership development and steward capacity strengthening of partners to maximize social impact. Effective workforce planning, team development, and staff well-being will be prioritized, reflecting CRS values and principles. The manager will provide coaching and mentoring, ensuring all staff understand and adhere to CRS safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-policies" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security policies. The role includes ensuring that all projects meet and exceed donor expectations, are designed for maximum impact, and adhere to CRS program quality standards. Additionally, the manager will promote accountability, learning, and knowledge management, manage the annual planning process, and develop a strong leadership team while championing safeguarding policies.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in International Development, International Relations, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing high-value relief and development programs is essential. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in a relevant field, experience in complex development settings, and a proven track record of managing high-value projects from multiple international donors. Knowledge of relevant donor regulations, experience in business development and private sector engagement, and experience working with Church partners are also preferred. The candidate should have experience in Microsoft 360 and information and budget management systems.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in International Development, International Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred and may enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience managing high-value relief and development programs. Candidates with experience in complex development settings and managing projects from multiple international donors will be prioritized.
Languages: Fluency in Nepali and English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The position includes supervisory responsibilities and requires the candidate to be willing and able to travel up to 20%.
