Job Overview:
The Project Manager will lead and direct the development and implementation of company projects, coordinating departmental or cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of new or existing projects. This role involves planning and directing project schedules, monitoring budgets, and overseeing the project from initiation through to delivery. The Project Manager will be responsible for organizing project activities to ensure completion on schedule and within budget constraints. Additionally, the position requires selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure efficient operation within the function. The Project Manager will also create and maintain a safe and equitable work environment, promoting a harassment- and violence-free culture while safeguarding project participants.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager's responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating activities for designated projects to meet goals and objectives within prescribed time frames and funding parameters. This involves reviewing project proposals and plans to determine scheduling, budget, procedures, staffing, and resource allocation. The Project Manager will establish work plans, project teams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with policies and project goals. They will develop proposals and research funding sources, provide guidance and training to managers and staff, and participate in strategic development with executive management. Establishing and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial, as is providing leadership to the project team to ensure clarity over plans and priorities. The Project Manager will also be responsible for the induction of project staff, ensuring they are familiar with the organization's values, quality standards, policies, and project objectives. Performance management and professional development of direct reports will also fall under their purview, including ongoing feedback, coaching, and career support.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of project management theories, concepts, and practices. Excellent project management skills, along with strong oral and written communication abilities, are essential. The role requires strong influencing and negotiation skills, as well as consultative skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are necessary to effectively plan, organize, and manage resources for successful project completion. The ability to motivate, influence, and collaborate with others is crucial, as is the capacity to build positive relationships with local communities, government officials, and donor representatives.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in fields such as Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology, Youth, or related fields is required. A Project Management (PM) Certification is preferred.

Experience:
Typically, candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in project management principles and practices, including a minimum of 5 years in line management. Proficiency with applicable rules, regulations, and policies associated with international development and NGOs is necessary. Demonstrated experience in multi-sector project management and implementation, as well as strategic planning, staff development, and capacity building, is essential. Candidates should have experience leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature and national/international in scope, and must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English, as well as the host country language. Experience operating in insecure environments and working in an NGO setting is also required.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in the host country language is also required. Additional languages may be beneficial but are not mandatory.
