Job Overview:
The National Junior Research, Monitoring, and Reporting Consultant position is designed for an individual who will contribute to research, monitoring, and reporting activities within the UNDP framework in Lebanon. This role is crucial for ensuring that the UNDP's projects are effectively monitored and evaluated, and that the results are communicated clearly to stakeholders. The consultant will work closely with various teams within UNDP and may also engage with external partners to ensure comprehensive data collection and reporting. The assignment is expected to last for 54 days over a period of 12 weeks, starting from the date of contract signature, and requires a commitment to delivering high-quality outputs within the specified timeframe.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to: conducting thorough research on specified topics relevant to UNDP's projects; collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; preparing detailed reports that summarize findings and recommendations; collaborating with project teams to ensure alignment of monitoring and reporting activities; developing monitoring frameworks and tools to assess project performance; participating in meetings and workshops to present findings; and providing support in the preparation of project proposals and documentation. The consultant will also be expected to maintain accurate records of all research and reporting activities and ensure compliance with UNDP's standards and guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in research methodologies and data analysis. A solid understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles is essential. The ideal candidate should have experience in working with international organizations or NGOs, particularly in the context of development projects. Proficiency in using statistical software and data visualization tools is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly are critical for this role. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the values and principles of the United Nations.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in social sciences, development studies, statistics, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage. Candidates should have a strong academic background that supports their ability to conduct research and analysis effectively.

Experience:
The position requires at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in research, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience working in the development sector, particularly in Lebanon or similar contexts, is preferred. Familiarity with UNDP's operations and methodologies will be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successfully managing research projects and delivering high-quality outputs within deadlines.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the quality of research conducted in the region. Knowledge of French or other languages may be considered an additional asset.
