Job Overview: This position is for a National Consultant who will provide technical advisory services for the promotion and implementation of multisectoral dialogue platforms aimed at sustainable production and development. The consultant will be responsible for facilitating discussions among various stakeholders, including government entities, civil society, and private sector representatives, to foster collaboration and innovative solutions for sustainable development challenges. The role requires a deep understanding of the local context in Paraguay, as well as the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. The consultant will work under a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) for a maximum period of up to three years, contributing to the UNDP's mission of promoting sustainable development practices.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
Facilitate the establishment and functioning of multisectoral dialogue platforms, ensuring active participation from all relevant stakeholders.
Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainable production practices within the platforms.
Conduct needs assessments and identify key areas for intervention in sustainable development.
Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders in the implementation of sustainable practices.
Organize workshops, training sessions, and meetings to enhance stakeholder engagement and knowledge sharing.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the dialogue platforms and report on progress to UNDP.
Collaborate with other UN agencies and development partners to align efforts and maximize impact.
Prepare and submit regular reports on activities, outcomes, and recommendations for future actions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience in facilitating multisectoral dialogues and stakeholder engagement processes.
Strong knowledge of sustainable development principles and practices, particularly in the context of Paraguay.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and propose practical solutions.
Familiarity with UNDP's mission and operations is an advantage.
Educational Background: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, environmental studies, development studies, or a related discipline is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainable development, stakeholder engagement, or related fields. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of UNDP or similar agencies, is highly desirable. Proven track record of successful project implementation and stakeholder collaboration is essential.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Paraguay. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and partners. Knowledge of indigenous languages or other local dialects would be beneficial but not required.
Additional Notes: This position is offered under a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) for a maximum duration of three years. The consultant will work on a part-time basis, with specific deliverables and timelines to be agreed upon. The role is open to both national and international candidates, but preference will be given to those with a strong understanding of the local context.
