Job Overview:
The Project Manager for the Game Changers Coalition will play a crucial role in coordinating and delivering the program effectively. This position requires a strong focus on gender equality and youth empowerment, as the project aims to empower adolescent girls to participate in the gaming industry. The successful candidate will act as the focal point for the program, ensuring alignment among various stakeholders, including UNICEF internal teams, external partners, and country offices. The role involves maintaining visibility over multiple workstreams, providing technical assistance, and ensuring timely delivery of program activities. The Project Manager will also be responsible for fostering collaborative partnerships and aligning with other initiatives within the Office of Innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected consultant will serve as the project manager for the Game Changers Coalition, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and technically sound delivery of activities. Responsibilities include coordinating with the RITEC and Fundoo teams, managing relationships with UNICEF program groups, and overseeing the implementation of the program in various countries. The Project Manager will also be tasked with identifying innovative approaches to engage girls in the gaming industry, developing training modules, and organizing events such as hackathons. Additionally, the role requires monitoring and reporting on program progress, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's goals, and addressing any challenges that arise during implementation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Masters or higher) in International Development, International Relations, or Gender Studies. A first university degree combined with two additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. The role requires at least seven years of professional work experience in multi-stakeholder and multi-country programs, with a strong emphasis on gender equality and women's empowerment. Excellent technical writing, research, and communication skills are essential, along with a preferred background in the video games industry.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Masters or higher) in a relevant field such as International Development, International Relations, or Gender Studies is required. Alternatively, a first university degree in a relevant field combined with two additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of seven years of professional experience in relevant fields, particularly in supporting multi-stakeholder and multi-country programs. Experience in gender equality and women's empowerment projects with a focus on girls-centered approaches is essential. Familiarity with the video games industry is preferred, and relevant experience in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts is desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time consultancy position for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of remote work. The consultant is expected to travel for approximately 5 days in Germany (Cologne) and 5 days in one new GCC country (such as Bolivia, Bangladesh, or Indonesia) to support country office-level implementation. Additionally, 3 days in Stockholm, Sweden, will be required for alignment with the Office of Innovation team. Payment will be based on the submission of agreed deliverables, and UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if deliverables do not meet required standards.
