Job Overview: The Social Cohesion Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the Helios+ project, which aims to integrate third-country citizens into the labor market in Greece. This position involves working closely with beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection, providing them with the necessary support to navigate their integration process. The coordinator will be responsible for assessing the needs of these individuals and facilitating their access to education, vocational training, and social services. The role requires a proactive approach to enhance the beneficiaries' ability to live independently, including language acquisition and community engagement. The coordinator will also be tasked with organizing events and activities that promote social cohesion and interaction between beneficiaries and local communities, ensuring a harmonious coexistence.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Social Cohesion Coordinator's responsibilities include a wide range of tasks aimed at supporting the Helios+ project. These duties encompass contributing to all administrative and logistical aspects of the project, conducting market research to identify community needs, and developing relationships between beneficiaries and the local community. The coordinator will coordinate administrative support, including scheduling meetings and maintaining agendas, and will work closely with local authorities to develop a comprehensive work program. Additionally, the coordinator will monitor and analyze issues affecting community coexistence, organize events and activities, and ensure accurate data collection and reporting. Regular participation in team meetings and maintaining program files and databases are also essential components of this role. The coordinator will perform other related duties as assigned by the Helios+ Center Manager, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a BA/BS Degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, or related fields. A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the humanitarian sector, is required. Proficiency in the Greek language, both spoken and written, is essential, along with a very good command of English (B2 level). Strong computer skills, particularly in word processing and Excel, are necessary, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to organize and prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment is crucial for success in this position.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a BA/BS Degree in relevant fields such as Humanities, Social Sciences, or Education. A Master's Degree in a related area, such as International Development or Human Rights, is preferred and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: The position requires at least three years of relevant experience, ideally in a humanitarian context. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in community engagement activities and initiatives, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Languages: Fluency in Greek is mandatory, as the role involves direct interaction with beneficiaries who primarily speak Greek. A very good knowledge of English (B2 level) is also required to facilitate communication within the team and with international stakeholders. Additional Notes: This is a project-based, fixed-term contract with full-time employment status. The salary range for this position is between €1400 and €1600 gross annually, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. The working hours are from 09:00 to 17:00, and the position is based in Athens, requiring in-person attendance. Occasional travel to other IRC program areas within Athens may be necessary.
