Job Overview:
The Associate Infrastructure Engineer position at the World Bank Group is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU). This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about leveraging technology to support the organization's mission of ending extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity. The role involves the design, development, implementation, and operation of enterprise cloud network infrastructure, with a focus on AWS and Azure platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of network engineering and programming skills, enabling them to automate network tasks and enhance the team's proactive monitoring capabilities. The position requires collaboration with various technology teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud, automation, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security strategies, ultimately contributing to the World Bank Group's digital transformation agenda.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: combining network engineering and programming skills to work with AWS/Azure platforms; leveraging native automation tools and developing custom scripts; utilizing Terraform, Ansible, TFS, and Python to create cloud network pipelines; automating network tasks based on project requirements using modern scripting languages; integrating automation tasks with other enterprise systems through APIs; enhancing proactive monitoring capabilities by creating automated reports and alerts for network events; maintaining the World Bank Group's Cloud Network infrastructure across various platforms; monitoring performance and diagnosing issues within the network infrastructure; updating documentation and producing reports for peer and management review; handling escalation calls from the Network Operations Center (NOC); and providing on-call support on a rotational basis. The role may also require travel to other World Bank Group offices to promote knowledge sharing and facilitate deployments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Network engineering experience is essential, along with hands-on experience with AWS and Azure network concepts. Candidates should have practical knowledge of firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, AWS Route53, DDI infrastructure, and various routing protocols. A solid understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, and network engineering fundamentals is also required. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and quickly grasp new ideas and concepts is crucial for success in this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 2 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have a strong foundation in network engineering principles and practices, as well as familiarity with cloud technologies and infrastructure management.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience if they hold a Master's degree, or at least 4 years of relevant experience if they possess a Bachelor's degree. Experience in network engineering is mandatory, and candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience with cloud platforms and network infrastructure management.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. While not required, proficiency in additional languages may be considered a valuable asset for candidates.
