Job Overview: The Associate Infrastructure Engineer position at the World Bank Group is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit. The primary function of this position is to maintain the enterprise network and develop automation scripts and tools that enhance network reliability and visibility. Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including managing the product lifecycle of operational system infrastructure, analyzing performance data, and proposing changes to improve technology performance. The engineer will document procedures, prepare reports on project metrics, and provide technical guidance to team members. Specific activities include maintaining the World Bank Group’s network infrastructure, automating environments using scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, and Ansible, and enhancing proactive monitoring capabilities. The engineer will also handle escalation calls from the Network Operations Center (NOC), ensure compliance with security standards, and participate in audits. Additionally, the role requires the ability to present technical information to various audiences and take personal responsibility for client queries and requests.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Associate Infrastructure Engineer position must possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They should have experience in automating tasks using scripting languages and tools, a good understanding of networking protocols and services, and hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches. Familiarity with routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, Azure DevOps, and the Linux operating system is also required. Candidates should be able to analyze large data sets and generate insightful reports, as well as collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering. A Master’s degree is preferred, particularly for candidates with fewer years of experience. The educational qualifications should be complemented by relevant certifications, such as Cisco certification or equivalent, SAFe DevOps (SDP), and ITIL 4 Intermediate, which are considered advantageous for this role.

Candidates should have at least 7 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 5 years with a Master’s degree in relevant roles. Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the World Bank Group.
