Job Overview:
The Warehouse Assistant position at UNICEF's Cox’s Bazar Field Office is crucial for managing warehouse operations, particularly in the context of humanitarian and emergency response services for Rohingya refugees. The role involves overseeing supplies receipts, storage management, and dispatching UNICEF supplies to meet program and emergency needs promptly. The Warehouse Assistant will also support warehouse capacity assessments and ensure compliance with UNICEF's policies and best practices in logistics management. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide rapid and relevant responses to warehousing needs, focusing on timely receiving, storing, and dispatching of supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain integrity, standards, and accountability through accurate supply and logistics management systems.
  • Develop and maintain effective collaboration with internal and external counterparts to expedite distributions and resolve issues.
  • Under supervision, manage receipts and dispatch of all shipments in accordance with UNICEF policies.
  • Inspect and verify the quantity of supplies received against purchase orders.
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean, safe, and well-maintained, including monitoring fire safety equipment.
  • Supervise forklift drivers and laborers supporting warehousing operations.
  • Ensure accurate stock movements in VISION and Inventory systems.
  • Perform warehouse transactions and support other national program warehouses as needed. 1
  • Regularly update the logistics team on dispatches and deliveries. 1
  • Conduct physical random checks of stock inventory and participate in full stock counts. 1
  • Collaborate with logistics teams of implementing partners and provide technical support. 1
  • Perform any other logistics-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to supply chain management. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in supply, logistics, warehouse, and inventory management, with a preference for experience in emergency duty stations and familiarity with relevant warehousing SAP systems. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's core values and competencies, including partnership building, ethical awareness, results-driven impact, and strategic thinking.

Educational Background:
Candidates are required to have completed secondary education, with additional technical or university courses related to the work of the organization being preferred. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of warehouse management and logistics operations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience in supply, logistics, warehouse, and inventory management. Experience in emergency duty station contexts and familiarity with relevant warehousing SAP systems is preferred, indicating the need for candidates to have a solid understanding of logistics in challenging environments.

Languages:
