Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer position focuses on supporting the play area initiative at the UNHCR Amman Khalda Registration Centre, where approximately 1,000 refugees seek assistance daily. The role is designed to cater to the diverse needs of children aged 3-13 years who accompany their parents for registration and protection interviews. The volunteer will help create a safe and engaging environment for children, allowing parents to focus on their interviews without childcare concerns. The play area serves as a secure space for children to engage in play and activities, promoting their emotional well-being and development. The volunteer will also be involved in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the children while fostering positive relationships with them and their families.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Registration Associate, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for:
  • Welcoming children visiting the UNHCR Amman Country Office and providing them with a warm and friendly environment.
  • Setting up and maintaining safe and secure play areas for children on a daily basis.
  • Leading games and supervising children to ensure their safety and enjoyment.
  • Engaging with children to discuss their worries and providing emotional support.
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents, caregivers, and professionals involved in the registration process.
  • Responding to injuries and emergencies as needed, ensuring the safety of all children in the play area.
  • Sharing any misinformation or tendencies observed within the refugee community to help improve services.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work with children in a diverse environment. They should demonstrate accountability, adaptability, creativity, and professionalism. Educational Background:
