Job Overview:
The Immunization Officer (Coordination and Vaccine Management) plays a crucial role in leading and contributing to the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of Immunization programs. This position is responsible for managing the entire vaccine supply chain, from forecasting and procurement to cold chain logistics and stock monitoring. The officer ensures effective delivery and coverage of immunization services, supports data analysis, and contributes to the expansion of immunization coverage. The role also emphasizes teamwork and capacity building to achieve the objectives aligned with the country program goals and strategies. The officer is expected to integrate evidence-based public health strategies with efficient vaccine supply chain management, ensuring that immunization goals are met while promoting gender equality and addressing disparities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date program/project management information for effective budget preparation and evaluation.
  • Enhance project efficiency and vaccination coverage through effective implementation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of immunization strategies in collaboration with partners.
  • Prepare timely progress reports and provide technical support for project documentation.
  • Ensure appropriateness and completeness of financial and supply documentation.
  • Maintain effective vaccine logistics systems, including forecasting and cold chain maintenance.
  • Produce timely and accurate vaccine stock reports for planning purposes.
  • Strengthen the capacities of Country Office staff through capacity building activities.
  • Achieve effective communication and collaboration with partners. 1
  • Maintain emergency preparedness and provide effective coordination during emergencies. 1
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a university degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Medicine, Health, Public Health, Family Health, Child Development, Nursing, or related areas in international development assistance. Familiarity with emergency contexts is also required. Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge in immunization and health care, as well as experience in knowledge management and social welfare.

Educational Background:
A university degree in disciplines relevant to social sciences, medicine, health, public health, family health, child development, nursing, or fields related to international development assistance in immunization and child survival is required. Background knowledge in emergency contexts is also beneficial.

Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience, including fieldwork experience and training in immunization, health care, or vaccine management. Experience in knowledge management is also essential, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, while knowledge of another official UN language (English) or a local language is considered an asset.
