Job Overview: The Financial Administrator role involves providing comprehensive financial administration, which includes managing payroll, statutory reporting, and offering financial management support for the W2W project grant. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Financial Administrator include but are not limited to:
Managing the financial administration of the W2W project grant, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Overseeing payroll processes and ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
Preparing and submitting financial reports to donors, ensuring adherence to their specific requirements and guidelines.
Conducting regular financial audits and reviews to ensure compliance with VSO policies and donor regulations.
Collaborating with project teams to develop budgets and monitor expenditures against the approved budget.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of donor requirements, particularly those related to UNFPA, FCDO, USAID, and EU funding.
Supporting the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
Engaging in continuous professional development to stay informed about best practices in financial management within the non-profit sector.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Fully Qualified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Accountant (ACCA) license.
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in grant finance, with a strong understanding of technical accounting and financial management principles.
Proven experience in managing restricted donor funding, including knowledge of procurement procedures and grant management.
Familiarity with donor rules and regulations, particularly those applicable to non-profit organizations.
Experience in partner financial management and capacity building is essential.
Practical experience in volunteering for development or working within the volunteering sector is highly advantageous.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a relevant educational background, typically including a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA are mandatory, demonstrating a high level of expertise in financial management and accounting practices.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in grant finance, with a focus on financial management within non-profit organizations. This experience should include a solid understanding of donor funding mechanisms, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with donors. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions in which VSO operates.
Additional Notes: This position is a full-time role with a fixed-term contract lasting for one year. The salary is set at Birches grade BG-04, amounting to 1,400,096.0
