Job Overview:
The Analyst position at EBRD plays a crucial role in contributing to all phases of the project cycle, which encompasses project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst is expected to take on responsibilities assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members, which may include conducting comprehensive due diligence that covers financial, market, integrity, and compliance with EBRD policies. The role requires effective post-signing implementation and monitoring of projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard and within specified time frames. The Analyst will work closely with a project team and will be guided by the operation leader or more senior bankers throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst's duties and responsibilities include:
  • Structuring and Execution: - Collaborating as a project team member on transactions, contributing to project structuring and execution through thorough research and analysis of background materials, market information, and financial performance data. - Evaluating potential risks associated with proposed projects, including financial statement analysis and the preparation of financial models and projections. - Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, including the preparation of terms of reference and internal approval documentation. - Communicating with internal units, clients, and stakeholders, preparing draft correspondence and presentations, and following up on internal communications. - Ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in accordance with the Bank's policies and objectives.
  • Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: - Undertaking tasks related to project implementation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures. - Preparing draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions and ensuring these are communicated to senior team members. - Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments, including communication with clients and preparation of progress reports. The Analyst's responsibilities are designed to evolve, allowing for the progressive undertaking of more complex tasks as experience and expertise are gained.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. A professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA is desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, understanding local and international accounting principles, and be computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications. Effective teamwork, adherence to deadlines, and the ability to work under pressure are critical. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory, and proficiency in the Ukrainian language is considered an advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, as it provides a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in financial analysis and project management. Candidates with equivalent professional experience in the financial sector may also be considered.

Experience:
Relevant experience in the financial industry is required, ideally gained from an auditing firm or an international financial institution (IFI) operating to international standards. Candidates should have exposure to industry or country-specific experience that enhances their understanding of the financial landscape and project dynamics.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Proficiency in the Ukrainian language is advantageous and may enhance the candidate's ability to engage with specific projects or stakeholders.
